Azodnem

The Inner Sanctum is, without a doubt, the most
personal and intimate area of Azodnem.com.

Who we are constantly changes, and what we think of ourselves changes from day to day. I am Robert, and Azodnem is just my last name spelled backwards.

I have decided to keep some of the pages in the
section in their original layout and design.

All images and writings are © 2008 Robert Mendoza,

The Inner Sanctum 2007
This version of the
Inner Sanctum curently contains the journal writings, online blogs, personal interviews, random musings and photo albums from every and all previous incarnations of Azodnem.com. This section has probably taken me the longest to redesign and repost, not due to any technical difficulties encountered, but rather a sense of nostalgia. I couldn't help but stare at the older pages and read through their entries. Not to have read them, would have felt almost sacrilegous on one level. My voice has changed so much since 1994, but I couldn't help but let myself wander.

I have to confess, however, that it was truly difficult to fight the urge to edit some of the older entries and comments. I chose to leave them intact. Reading through them have helped me come to a powerful and humbling realization tonight; I have been truly blessed. "I choose to celebrate," was a phrase I often clung too when things were difficult. So much of what I had cried for years ago, and desperately secretly hoped for has come true. I love you, Brighton. I always will.

The Azodnem Journals - (1994 - 2000)
During my second and third years at the School of Visual Arts, I took an elective called Journal (instructed by the author, Ann Rower). The following section contains unedited excerpts from 3 out of the 4 journals that I wrote in from 1994 on into early 1996. The 4th journal, unfortunately, seems to have been lost. With my luck, it'll show up on e-bay somewhere. LOL. I've also included excerpts from a journal I kept during 1998 and 1999, as well the online journals I maintained through 2000.

The Azodnem Grimoires - (2001 - 2002)
The Journals have once again evolved. A Grimoire is a book of secrets. The very word "Grimoire" inspires images of the forbidden, of the taboo of deviation, and of the hidden power within us all. Yet isn't that the very power of words? - to inspire, to confront, to force us to evolve our thinking? Isn't that their "magic"? Artists often touch upon the forbidden for their inspiration, and it is from that exploration that the true nature of ourselves can be uncovered. And so, with that hope, I present... The Azodnem Grimoires.

The Bravenet Blog - (2007 - ?)
Bravenet.com supplies several of the services throughout Azodnem.com (the guestbook, the e-cards, the hit counter, etc.). I finally added their blog service this year, and I am really starting to enjoy the process. It provides me the freedom of being able to access, edit and update entries from virtually anywhere that has internet access.
