General
Appearance:
Garreth is a tall, ruggedly handsome, muscular youth with long, black
hair and a short beard. His green eyes convey a hint of feral mystery.
Although his expression tends to reveal little emotion, his smile has
an enchanting effect when it does surface.
He generally dons a hooded, dark
green cloak over armor of leather hide. Although largely unconcerned
with the conventions of men, he is unusually fastidious in his appearance.
Traits & Characteristics:
Lacking the mercurial personality of most shapeshifter druids, Garreth
tends to display little emotion. He embraces a philosophy of peaceful
harmony with the natural world, and is most often detached and aloof.
He prefers quiet contemplation over involvement with the affairs of
the "civilized" folk, even disdaining the politics of the
druidic circles. Most of his time is spent in animal form. He does,
however, possess a natural charm. Though slow to anger, when he does
his wrath is severe.
Personal History:
Garreth’s knows nothing of his ancestry. He was raised by the druids
of the Spiderthorne Woods since his infancy, who will only say that
one day the secret of his heritage will be revealed. His affinity for
assuming animalform manifested at an early age, and he was entrusted
with the task of acting as a messenger, and sometime spy, for the druids.
His curiosity and desire to seek wisdom and greater enlightenment has
inspired him to seek the path of an adventurer.
It has been discovered through the
course of the adventure, that Garreth is one of the several children
(sons) of Mathien. History has painted Mathien as having left no heirs,
but reality and a king's libido have proven otherwise.
Personal
Goals:
Like all druids of the Spiderthorne, Garreth is sworn to protect the
plants and animals of the woods from those who would do them harm. He
thus actively seeks out any threat to his home to destroy it. As a druidic
priest of Belenus, he is also charged with protecting the rings of standing
stones sacred to the druids. Garreth does not covet wealth, but recognizes
its uses on occasion. He primarily seeks to gain spiritual enlightenment,
and in so doing become a more perfect servant of his deity. One step
along this path to self-realization, he believes, will be learning the
secret of his origins.
