Handbooks

The following rules and regulations applied to a Dungeons & Dragons original storyline run during 2000 & 2001.

Character Creation:
The game will use standard AD&D 2nd Edition Rules, with the following noted exceptions and/or amendments.

Campaign Level:
All characters will begin at first level, with maximum hit points.

Character Attributes:
All starting characters will have 81 points to distribute among their six attributes. Even after the application of racial adjustments your "stats" should still add up to 81.

Percentile Strength: Fighters, Rangers and Paladins with an 18 Strength DO qualify for their percentile bonus. Percentile Strength will be rolled on the day of our first session.

Player Races:
All of the standard races /subraces are allowed:
Humans, Elves (No Drow), Half-Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes, and Halflings.

These additional races are also allowed:
Swanmay, and Half-Drow. Other races (humanoids) may be made available upon request.

Character Classes:
All character classes are available for the player characters, unless restricted by race. No exceptions.
Maximum racial levels do apply - however, when and if characters reach their maximum racial level, they can still advance - but at twice the normal experience cost.

Clerics: - Demihuman clerics are free to choose from any ethos listed in their appropriate handbooks. Humans can choose any deity from the Celtic pantheon. Druids are, of course, more than welcome.

Mages: - Signature Spells are allowed. (Page 57 of the Player's Option: Spells & Magic book) Mages and Specialists start off with half their maximum spells per level, as their total selection of first level spells.

NOTE: Please try to make the adventuring party self-efficient, as I will not be playing any NPC that can join the group.

Alignments:
Try not to be too evil... please.

Character Kits:
Character kits are allowed. Kits listed in the Humanoids Handbook are available to other races of the appropriate class. Multi-classed players can select either a multi-classed kit or class specific kit for one of their classes. Custom designed kits would need to be approved.

Weapon Proficiencies:
The following weapons are not available as selections in this campaign due to setting or time period: Arquebus and Oriental weaponry.

Nonweapon Proficiencies:
All nonweapon proficiencies listed throughout the handbooks are available (for the appropriate class) except for those listed in the humanoids handbook as specifically a humanoids' skill.

Money & Equipment:
Starting gold for everyone is 137gp. Starting equipment is whatever you can afford with that sum.
